About

Fish Gospel is a visual cosmology of belief, value, and identity, unfolding across 435 works and 23 chapters. Moving between diagrammatic spaces, crowded tableaux and near-empty compositions, abstraction, figuration, and cinematic scenes, Artifishal develops a visual language in which fish, stylized figures, graphs, machines, and devotional forms recur, their meanings shifting as they pass from one context to another. Weaving together crypto culture, art history, popular media, modern folklore, and contemporary technology, the work sets systems of order and value against myth, intuition, and the irrational, revealing beneath the new much older structures of desire, fear, affiliation, and belief.

Using artificial intelligence, Fish Gospel builds coherence through sequence, recurrence, and transformation rather than a single visual style. Drawing on Artifishal's background in filmmaking, the project pushes against the conventions of the still image through pacing, repetition, and montage, allowing individual works to remain autonomous while contributing to a larger narrative structure. The inscription of each work on Bitcoin sets this shifting visual language against a technological structure predicated on permanence.

Each work is individually titled, extending the collection's network of references across literature, cinema, internet vernacular, and crypto culture. Titles such as Captain Ahab, Hasta la Vista, Findoor, Are You Still Watching?, Wen, and Evil Shiller No. 2 (Trust Me Bro) introduce further layers of association and humor. Recurring Golden Fish appear as rare traits, sometimes concealed within the imagery and, in one instance, functioning as Artifishal's autograph. In a crowded sequence that recasts the visual logic of Where's Waldo?, this hidden motif turns recognition into an act of search and discovery.

Artifishal is an artist and filmmaker working across artificial intelligence, conceptual art, surrealist automatism, and poetry. His work has been included in multiple Sotheby's auctions, including Contemporary Discoveries. Fish Gospel marks his sixth body of work inscribed on Bitcoin.
